Presented By: Captain William J. Panarello
Bio: Trained as a manufacturing engineer on aircraft engines for Honeywell-Garrett in PHX, GE Aircraft engines, and Textron on the Abrams M1 tank jet engine. His passion for aviation began with rebuilding a Piper J3 Cub in his teens in Boston, after his first lesson at Norwood airport, he was hooked. Bill's career has never parted ways from aviation, leading him to the cockpit of today’s modern airliners. Throughout this journey as an instructor and professional pilot, Bill has brought this passion to his students, including his three sons which have been learning his procedures and radar before their feet could even hit the pedals. Hired by Command Airways in 1987, Bill was trained extensively by the Northeast winters in the Shorts 330 and 360's, ATR42, SAABSF340, and Embraer 135/140/145. Twenty three years as a Captain, ten years as a Company Check Airman in Jets, and Retired in 2022 as Captain for American Airlines in the B737-800. Refocusing now on Turbine-class Aircraft Training. Bill aims to make safer operators through introduction of these standard procedures in actual flight conditions to make more confident pilots. Bill founded TBM Pro Training in 2012 knowing there is another way to approach flight training, leaving the simulator behind, using the intensity of real line-oriented flying in operators’ aircraft, Bill creates memorable and lasting training events, with over twenty years of training experience in both piston- and turbine-class pilots with his "Airline Mindset for General Aviation", radar techniques, icing, and airmanship standards for flying your turbo prop safely. Bill regularly speaks at safety seminars instructing pilots on  weather, radar, and airline style profiles for general aviation, his passion is still as high it it has ever been. Keep the Blue side up and the Ball Centered!
Details: The onboard weather radar has become one of the most misunderstood instruments in today's modern cockpit. With operation and design rooted in 50+ year old technology it is easy to see why NEXRAD and advanced uplinked weather have become the norm. Relying on this uplink weather alone has proved to be deadly to many flights where just a basic knowledge of the weather radar would have made all the difference.
Bill has a passion for radar and teaching it to students and seminars with a way that makes it understandable for all.
Please plan to attend this Wx Radar Training Course and you will learn to master those red blobs and gain confidence flying in the weather that keeps many on the ground.
Recommended ‘Homework’
This seminar is only 45 minutes long. To get the most from it, please view the 4ea 20 minute radar training videos listed below. The study is the same for all radars up through the 3rd video. Video four is for the gwx70 and up radars with no magnetron.
